Capitan Corbeta CA Curbelo International Airport (IATA: PDP, ICAO: SULS) is an aviation facility located in Maldonado. The airport mainly serves passengers traveling to neighboring Punta del Este, although it generally serves cities surrounding the Maldonado area. Because of its closeness to Punta del Este, a popular beach resort city, it is sometimes referred to as "Punta del Este International Airport" or "Punta del Este Airport" by passengers using it.
The airport typically sees a growth in passenger numbers during the summer months. Most of the passengers that fly to Corbeta CA Curbelo International Airport come from Montevideo. International services are available from Argentina and Brazil as well, however. In 2004, the airport's runway RW10 was repaired.
Corbela CA Curbelo International Airport can handle different types of jets, although usually, small jets like the Boeing 737 and turbo-props like the ATR-42's are used in this airport, which compliments a "department" airport also located around Punta del Este.
