Capital Athletic Conference

The Capital Athletic Conference (or CAC) is an intercollegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA’s Division III. Member institutions are located in the eastern United States in the States of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C..

Catholic and Goucher will be leaving the conference in 2007-2008 to become members of a new yet-to-be-named conference.
Three colleges will be joining the conference in the next few seasons:
- Hood College—All men's teams will join in 2006-2007, plus women's cross country. All other teams will join in 2007-2008.[1]
- Villa Julie College—Field hockey and women's lacrosse will join in 2006-2007. Other sports will follow in 2007-2008.[2]
- Wesley College—All teams will join in 2007-2008.

The CAC sponsors intercollegiate athletic competition in men's baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, women's field hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women’s soccer, women's softball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, and women's volleyball.
