Capharnaum (death metal) is a technical death metal band starting out in a brutal style. Each individual plays a significant role in encompassing the general feel and technicality of the music.

The band issued its first and less successful album, Reality Only Fantasized, in 1996, but the band's success folded due to the presence of already successful bands within the genre, and the diminishing popularity of Heavy Metal in general. After the band broke up, each member went to seek their own respective roles within the metal community and ended up in more popular and successful bands such as Monstrosity, Trivium and Martyr.

The band then reunited in Florida and have released a more successful album, Fractured, with a slight change in direction, making it less brutal and more thrash yet maintaining some of the former style.
