Caparison
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A caparison is a covering, or cloth laid over a horse or other animal, especially a pack animal, or horse of state. Anciently, caparisons were a kind of iron armor, with which horses were covered in battle.
The word is Spanish, being an augmentative of cape, caput, "head".
