Cap'n Jaspers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cap'n Jaspers is an outdoor food outlet located on Whitehouse Pier within Plymouth's famous Barbican district overlooking the breakwater and National Marine Aquarium.
The restaurant is a local hub and tourist attraction, and is a favourite meeting spot for bikers.
It is host to a wide range of traditional (and unique) burgers, baps and hotdogs. But no chips!
[edit] History
Cap'n Jaspers was established as a result of a charitable enterprise in the late 1970s by John "the Capn" Dudley and two friends.
During the first 19 years the business operation was based purely on the goodwill of the Sutton Harbour Co. and John Dudley as no lease existed.
The structure has been rebuilt several times and now features a terrace and numerous of John Dudley's inventions for customers to enjoy.
John Dudley died on 24th June 2001. Cap'n Jaspers is now run by his daughter.
[edit] Menu
Cap'n Jaspers serves traditional food from the Plymouth area and some menu items garner rewards upon consumption e.g. a badge depicting '1/2 Yard Club'.
