"Canned Heat Blues" was a song that was recorded by delta blues artist Tommy Johnson in the year of 1929. The song features the refrain "canned heat, mama, sure, Lord, killing me." Canned Heat is a trade name of Sterno, a chafing fuel used in catering, from which a potentially lethal alcoholic drink can be derived.
