Candia

The name Candia can refer to:

  • The old Venetian name of ancient Herakleion (Latinized Heracleion), present Heraklion, the largest city on the island of Crete, refounded by Arabs under the name Khandak, and linked to the modern sense of candy;
  • An alternative name for the entire island of Crete while "Candia" was its capital, and again under Ottoman rule in the Turkish spelling Kandia;
  • Candia, New Hampshire;
  • Candia (Ridley), a member of the Pagan goth-rock band Inkubus Sukkubus
