[edit] The Stories
[edit] The Hook
The Hook was the first story of the movie. It is the only story out of the four that doesn't really fit in with the scheme of things. It is mostly there to set the mood and to give an idea of what's to come.
It is a retelling of the classic urban legend about a young couple at a local make out spot. An announcer interrupts the music to alert listeners that a killer has escaped from a nearby asylum. Citizens are to be on the lookout for a man with a hook in place of his hand. The girl gets scared and asks to be taken home. When they get back, the boy goes to open the door for her, there is a bloody hook dangling from the handle.
[edit] The Campfire
Some people are traveling down the road when their car goes off to the side. They retell all of the stories, called The Honeymoon, The Locket, The Hook, and People Can Lick Too. When they are done with the telling of the stories, they soon realize that they were killed in the accident and their ghosts were telling the stories.
[edit] The Honeymoon
This story was about two young lovers who were recently married. For their honeymoon, they rent an RV and take it on a road trip. While traveling, they spend their time making love and having fun. Then one night, the RV breaks down in the woods. The husband decides to get out to walk back to a gas station that they had passed before turning into the woods. He tells his wife not to get out of the RV for any reason until he gets back.
So the wife waits around in the RV as the husband starts walking. After a few hours, she begins to get nervous because her husband hasn't come back yet. After a while, she begins hearing a sound on the top of the RV. This makes her afraid but she manages to get to sleep.
In the morning, the police comes and knocks on the door, waking her up. They lead her away from the RV and tell her not too look back. But the temptation overcomes her and she looks back. She see her husband hanging upside down from the tree, his ring scraping the top of the RV.
[edit] People Can Lick Too
This story is about a young girl staying home with her sister. The sister goes to the mall with her friends, leaving the young girl home by herself. The girl isn't too afraid, as she has her faithful dog by her side. The girl starts talking to a friend that she met over the internet. She tells her friend about how she's staying home by herself and how she wasn't afraid.
When she goes to bed, she puts her hand under her bed and lets her dog lick it. After falling asleep, she is woken by the sound of a dripping faucet from her bathroom. She brushes it off and lets her dog lick her hand so she can fall asleep. This happens a total of three times. On the third time, she sees the headlights of her parent's car and decides to go turn off the faucet.
In her bathroom, she finds the body of her mutilated dog, hanging from the shower faucet and dripping blood into the tub. Written on the mirror in big red letters was a single phrase, "People can lick too"
[edit] The Locket
A guy is riding is motorcycle through the plains when it runs out of gas. The guy stops at a house nearby where he meets a girl that is a mute. The girl says (not literally) that her father is far away, herding cattle. The house she lives in has no electricity, and she lives using candles and 19th Century tools and materials. When night comes they soon make love, but after having sex the guy falls asleep. Only to awake to see a guy outside by the well. It's storming outside at this time, and the girl is downstairs. Someone is referring to as degrading sexual terms, such as slut, whore, and bitch. The guy gets out of the bed and finds the girl on the stairs not even touched. They go downstairs to see the entire house shaking.
The girl tells the guy that her house is haunted. After this the guy is back outside of the house next to the well. The storm continues on as the girl is now in another room with the door shut. Stuff starts flying around the room, and there are numerous blood stains (and even wet blood) dripping and running all around the room. The man from the well appears inside of the room and starts screaming more sexually degrading words at her. The guy and the girl run from the house and run to a field far away.In this field they fall asleep underneath a tree, with the guy waking up the following day. Once he wakes up he takes a locket from the girl's neck and open it. As he opens it, inside is a picture of the girl and him, one picture per piece of the locket. After this the girl's head falls into the guys lap and the story ends.
Coincidently, the actor from this story appears to be a paramedic later on near the ending.
