Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball League) is the main basketball league in Brazil. Currently, the championship is disputed by the Brazilian confederation, CBB, and the NLB ("Nossa Liga de Basquete") led by former player Oscar Schmidt.

The championship has organization problems, and in 2004 begun being calling "Liga do Busão" ("bus league"), because of the transportation by bus, since the CBB wouldn't pay the transportation and airplanes are expensive.

From 2002, the teams have their names with sponsor first. From 1992 and 1996-2000, the sponsor is the latter name.
