Camp de Tarragona railway station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Camp de Tarragona is a new railway station, due to open in December 2006, on the high-speed line between Madrid and Barcelona in Spain. Situated between the municipalities of La Secuita and Perafort, some 8 km north of Tarragona itself, the new station serves a population estimated to total over 400,000.

The station complex, covering 5.2 hectares, has ten standard-gauge tracks, 400-metre-long platforms, passenger handling facilities, a travel centre, shops, and parking for 633 vehicles.

Pending completion in 2007 of the next section of the Madrid - Barcelona - French frontier high-speed line, between Camp de Tarragona and Barcelona Sants railway station, trains will change gauge at the Roda de Barà gauge-changing installation.
