Camille Armand Jules Marie, Prince de Polignac, a Major General in the forces of the Confederate States of America, was born February 16, 1832 in Millemont Seine-et-Oise, France. He died in Paris on November 15, 1913. He was the last-living Confedrate Major General.

With Felix Zollicoffer, he shares the distinction of being the most obscure and least remembered of Confederate generals. This article attempts to repair this lack.

Polignac is best known for his leadership at the Battle of Mansfield, April 8, 1864, in De Soto Parish, Louisiana. This is accounted a Confederate victory.

He was of noble French birth.His father was Jules, prince de Polignac. Through his distant cousin, Pierre de Polignac, he is related to the Grimaldis of Monaco (Prince Albert II).
