Cameron Maybin

Cameron Maybin was born on April 4, 1987 in Arden, North Carolina. He was selected in the first round with the 10th pick of the 2005 MLB Amateur Draft by the Detroit Tigers. He currently plays for one of their A minor league affiliates, the West Michigan Whitecaps.

Maybin made his minor league debut on April 6, 2006. As of September 10th, 2006, he is hitting .304 with nine home runs and 69 runs batted in in 101 games. His only flaw so far is that he has already struck out 116 times in 385 at bats, but he has also accumulated 50 walks and posted an impressive .387 on-base percentage. He was selected for the 2006 All-Star Futures Game.
