Cambridge Public Emergency Radio Tower

Cambridge Public Emergency Radio Tower was a 384 metre ( 1260 ft) guyed radio tower at Cambridge, Kansas, USA used for the Public Emergency Radio of the United States. It was planned to activate these stations only at emergency case, when a nuclear attack was expected. The transmissions took place in the longwave range on 179 kHz. The system was inpracticable and was never implemented. The fate of the towers built for this system is unknown.
