Dark Secrets Inside Bohemian Grove is a 2000 documentary directed and narrated by Austin, Texas based journalist and filmmaker Alex Jones. It chronicles his July 15, 2000 infiltration of the controversial annual gathering of the Bohemian Club, a private club located on a 2,700-acre redwood forest called Bohemian Grove. Cameraman Mike Hanson assisted him. Jones captured the first ever public recording of the Cremation of Care ritual.

According to Jones and others knowledgeable about conspiracies, Bohemian Grove is where those who espouse a world governed by a singular government secretly meet annually. For years, it had been rumored that these elitists were part of a larger organization, which they call the New World Order, and took part in occultic ceremonies, in particular, the Cremation of Care, which involves the firey sacrifice of an effigy they call "Care" beneath a 45-foot stone statue of an owl they call Moloch.

The wealthy and affluent in the worlds of politics, business, and media attend the ceremony. An almost exclusively male organization, rampant homosexual activity is also alleged.

For many years, people have attempted to determine what, if anything, occurs that would engender these extraordinary rumors. However, no one had been able to successfully make it in and out of the grove with video or photographic evidence until the evening of July 15, 2000, when Jones and cameraman Mike Hanson accomplished the feat. British journalist Jon Ronson of the British network Channel 4 and his crew were filming their own documentary about the planning of the infiltration and the events that succeeded it. Alex Jones' then-girlfriend, Violet Nichols (now Violet Jones) was interviewed at length. Jones' footage was later shown in the UK as part three in a four-part documentary, The Secret Rulers of the World. One of the filmmakers, Jon Ronson, subsequently documented the experience in his book, Them: Adventures with Extremists.

Dark Secrets Inside Bohemian Grove was first aired on Channel 4 and then made available via streaming or on DVD.

[edit] The Order of Death

In 2005, Alex Jones released the follow-up documentary, The Order of Death, in which Jones details what happened in the five years since the infiltration. The new film includes a heated encounter with former presidential advisor David Gergen and his battle with activist Mary Moore, who, according to Jones "went unglued" over the original film. [1] Jones states that Moore had turned over her organization to another group in 2001 and it was this group that staged a counter ritual of their own. It also features new footage filmed surreptitiously by a former Grove employee Jones calls "Kyle", which added additional information such as the fact that the Moloch statue is actually hollow, that four different effigies of Care are used, and that he personally saw New Mexico governor Bill Richardson and Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas in attendance.

Jon Ronson states in the film that "everywhere I looked, the Internet was aflame with news of the daring raid".

Dark Secrets Inside Bohemian Grove and The Order of Death are offered as a set on Jones' network of websites.
