On the project page you can find detailed guides on how to write about counties and settlements, as well as where to find statistics, references and other useful things. Additionally, the following has been identified as specific improvements this article needs:
- Cite sources using Wikipedia:Footnotes.
- "Modern Calne" is a bit of a vague header that could be filled up with all sorts of unrelated stuff. See the guidelines above for section suggestions.
- "Famous" and "Calne" are redundant in section headers: this is an encyclopedia entry about Calne, both those things are therefore implicit.
- Prose is better than lists.

Article should include information about Sir Joseph Priestly and his discovery of oxygen during his tenure are Bowood estate.
- Added a brief paragraph. More information is already at Joseph Priestley and Bowood House (where Priestley actually made the discovery). Feel free to expand on this if you want! Thanks -- munt fish 11:42, 2005 Apr 14 (UTC)
