[edit] Type species
The species Silurus callichthys is no longer considered a valid name by Fishbase, it is Callichthys callichthys. The Fishbase article on the species has been updated, but the Fishbase article on the genus still reflects the older name. I think this should be considered an error and I have undone Gdr's (Talk) edits to the type species in the taxobox on this article. This is not only because of the change reflected in the species article, but because it would seem unlikely that the type species of a genus would be a member of a different genus in a whole different family. Talk about it here if you think I'm missing something. Neil916 15:52, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- A reference to a type species should always use the original name; see ICZN Recommendation 67B. Gdr 18:01, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
