Call of Duty first opened up a new game series based on World War II. It created more realistic and exiting action packed gameplay that seemed so real it is claimed to be "As close to War as you'd every want to get." That quote being from the official Call of Duty 2 Website.

Call of Duty is the first installment of the series, earning a Game Of The Year Award, and an Excellence In Audio Award. It was based on the Quake III Engine. Infinity Ward developed it, which is actual the first game the company had ever made. The game made them a well known company, and helped them create Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4.

Call of Duty: United Offensive is an Expansion Pack to the first installment of the series. This game was created by Gray Matter Interactive and had vehicles that were included. It also included a ranking system.

Call of Duty: Finest Hour is a Console Spin-Off of Call of Duty. It actually includes Online Play which can hold up to 32 player on the Xbox.

Call of Duty 2 is the second installment of the series, it had increased it's graphics and gameplay by adding many different effects. Infinity Ward returned to make this sequal. The playable sides are the Americans, the British, and the Russians.

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is a Console Spin-Off of Call of Duty 2.

Call of Duty 3 is the third installment of the series, but not made by Infinity Ward. To many fan's disappointment, it was on virtually every game system but the PC. However, Call of Duty 4 is announced to be released on the PC as well as the consoles.

Call of Duty 4 is the fourth installment of the series, which has Infinity Ward back at the helm to develope it. It is the first game to take place in present day and not World War II like all of the others. It also includes 54 playes Online for the PC. It is also claimed that there are 16 different points on the enemy's head that you can shoot, including the helmet and maybe even one of their ears. It is also to possible to smack their heads as well.
