State Route 153 is a very short state highway in El Dorado County, California. It extends only 0.5 miles from State Route 49, near the town of Coloma in the heart of California's Gold Country. The highway serves as a connector to Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park; specifically, ending near a monument marking the location of James Marshall's discovery of gold along the American River in 1848, sparking the California Gold Rush.
