California's 9th congressional district

The 9th Congressional District of California is a Congressional District that currently covers a significant portion of the East Bay portion of the San Francisco Bay Area, California. It includes the cities of Oakland and Berkeley, among others. The district has been represented in the United States House of Representatives by Barbara Lee since 1998. Prior to Lee, the 9th District had been represented by Ron Dellums since 1971. The district is highly racially diverse and heavily left-leaning, typically voting for Democratic candidates.
