The 8th congressional district of California covers most of the City and County of San Francisco except for a corner in the southwest -- the Sunset District and St. Francis Wood -- that is part of the 12th District.

The 8th district is one of the most reliably Democratic districts in the country, though left-wing third parties like the Green Party often poll well in the district.
