Calgary Shaw

Calgary Shaw is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Canada.
This highly Conservative riding covers the central southern portion of Calgary, and has seen its borders change numerous times since it was created in 1986, when it was carved out of Calgary Fish Creek. The riding has a long tradition of crushing Progressive Conservative wins.
The riding contains the neighborhoods of Midnapore, Shawnessy, Somerset, Lake Sundance and Lake Chaparral.

[edit] Boundaries
As defined in the Electoral Divisions Act 2003
Northeast Boundary
The north eastern boundary weaves its way along the edge of Fish Creek Provincial Park from the city limits to Macleod Trail. The border moves south along Macleod Trail and turns west at Shawnessy Blvd and continues to James McKevitt Road SW.
Calgary Hays, borders to the east Calgary Fish Creek borders to the north and Calgary Lougheed borders to the north and west.
West boundary
The west boundary travels south down James McKevitt Road and continues down 14 Street SW until it reaches the city limits.
Foothills-Rocky View borders the Southwestern edge of the district.
South boundary
The South boundary follows the city limits back to Fish Creek Provincial Park.
Highwood borders the riding to the south.

On November 19th 2004 a Student Vote was conducted at participating Alberta schools of all types, to parallel the 2004 Election results and to educate students about the electoral process. The vote was conducted in 80 of the 83 ridings.
