Calgary East is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Canada.

The electoral riding of Calgary East has existed twice, the first incarnation was created from Calgary North East in the election of 1963. The riding changed names in 1971 to Calgary McCall. The return of Calgary East happened in the 1993 election when Calgary Forest Lawn and half of Calgary Millican merged.

This riding covers the central north east portion of Calgary and contains the neighborhoods of Vista Heights, Rundle, Marlborough, Mayland Heights.

Only two MLA's have ever held this riding since 1963, the early Calgary East belonging to Social Credit and the second incarnation solidly Progressive Conservative. Since the district was re-created Social Credit has floundered, never coming in higher than third. The Liberals have made progressive gains increasing vote share and percent in every election in Calgary East, but have never managed a breakthrough.

Calgary East was home to some controversy during the 2004 election as, MLA Moe Amery was forced to give notice he would resign to get endorsed by the Progressive Conservatives. Moe was implicated in an immigration fraud scandal for signing the papers of someone he did not know. A crime that could include jail time under Canadian law. The allegations, did not hurt his campaign much as he still won with a 50% majority, however he did drop 20% points from 2001. If he is convicted this is most likely the next riding in Alberta for a by-election.
