The Caledonian Railway 294 Class were freight 0-6-0 tender engines introduced in 1918 and designed by William Pickersgill.

They were classified 3F by the LMS. Twenty-three survived to be taken into British Railways stock.

They had leading dimensions of

  • Weight - 50 tons 13 cwt (51.5 t)
  • Boiler pressure 180 lbf/inĀ² (1.24 MPa)
  • 2 cylinders 18.5 inches by 26 inches (469.9 mm by 660.4 mm)
  • Driving wheel 5 ft 0 inches (1.524 m)
  • Starting tractive effort 22,690 lbf (100.9 kN)
