Caleb Atwater

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The postmaster in Circleville, Ohio in the 1800s, Caleb Atwater explored mounds found near his home town. His observations led him to believe that the moundbuilders were Hindus that had migrated from India and then moved on to Mexico. His observations and theories were published in a two part paper in 1820.
