Caleb Applewhite is a fictional character on the ABC television series Desperate Housewives. The character is played by Page Kennedy and NaShawn Kearse.
Betty's other son was held in the Applewhite basement for punishment, as Betty Applewhite thought he killed Matthew Applewhite's girlfriend, Melanie Foster. Once, he broke free and sneaked into the Solis household where he ate their ice cream. While in the Solis' house, he scared Gabrielle and caused her to lose her baby, when she tripped while trying to run down the stairs in high heels and a tight dress. Eventually, he was found — and seen by all of Wisteria Lane being carted off in a police car. But Betty and Matthew went to the psych ward where he was being held and helped him escape.
He suffers from an autism spectrum disorder, on the low-functioning end of the spectrum.
It is revealed that Matthew killed Melanie Foster in the season finale. After Matthew held Bree Van De Kamp hostage and shot dead by a police sniper, Betty and Caleb moved out of Wisteria Lane.
