Calceolariaceae is a flowering plant family in the Lamiales that has been recently segregated from Scrophulariaceae. The three genera included in the family, Calceolaria, Porodittia, and Jovellana, were traditionally included in Scrophulariaceae but recent molecular phylogenies that included Calceolaria have shown not only that this genus does not belong in Scrophulariaceae (or any of the numerous families recently segregated from Scrophulariaceae) but also that this genus is the sister to a clade containing the majority of the other families of the Lamiales. Morphological and chemical characters support the separation of Calceolaria from Scrophulariaceae and the separation of Calceolariaceae from other Lamiales.
