Cahoots is an independent women's magazine, published in Canada. It was founded in 2005 by Carla Atherton and Michele Rowe, who remain as the magazine's managing editor and editor, respectively.
[edit] Format
Cahoots publishes articles, fiction, poetry, and visual art. It covers topics that are relevant to women, such as career and health, home, life, and the world, grouped into themed issues.
Themes have included Community, Home, Adventure, and Learning. These topics are approached from a variety of angles and in a variety of styles.
[edit] Origins
Cahoots was created in response to a perceived gap in mainstream women's media. Dominated by extremes, magazines did not represent, or speak to, a large and growing demographic of educated, thoughtful Canadian women. Cahoots was established to create a conversation between all women, taking Canada as a whole.
