Cagua

Cagua, city of Venezuela located in the State of Aragua, capital of municipio Sucre. At 458 meters of altitude, in the valley of Aragua River. Estimated population is 2005 119.052 inhabitants.

Established in 1620 as Cagua la Vieja, a town of original spaniards, was rebuilt in its current location in 1622 wiht the name of Nuestra SeƱora del Rosario de Cagua, changing it later to San Jose de Cagua during XVIII century. The city is now known as Cagua.
