General Location and Description
The small rural hamlet of Cabrich is approximately 11 miles north east of the city of Inverness. It is situated on a gently sloping hill which meets rich farmland. From the highest point of Cabrich a stunning view of the area can be obtained which includes luscious forestland and attractable wildlife.
Size and Attraction
The area of Cabrich stretches roughly 1 mile in either direction and is a well known area for cyclists and runners enjoying a relaxing wind-down. The quiet peaceful roads and welcoming community is an ideal place to raise children without modern day fears of crime and undesirable peer pressure. The hamlet consists of just over 30 houses, spread over a wide area of land.
Wildlife
Cabrich has a thriving array of wildlife which includes a herd of deer, peacocks, a swallow breeding area, a lively rabbit population and an abundance of pheasants. And of course there is the expected speckling of sheep in the neighbouring fields! The lower areas of the hamlet can also be used a shooting area for pheasant. This rarely is the case though with many residents welcoming these animals into their gardens.
Walks
Cabrich is also featured in the[1] local walking guide for "the Aird". It describes the area as "a peaceful valley" and rates the walk easy with no special footwear needed.
Local Places of Interest
The walking guide also suggests stopping in at the local Moniack Wineries for some wine tasting and if that gets your appetite going why not stop for a bite to eat at the local restaurant [2] The Old North Inn
