[edit] C. Wolf's History
C. Wolf made his debut June 20, 1995, at Jerry Uht Park.
At that time, C. Wolf protected Erie from Muckdogs, Spinners and Doubledays as part of the New York - Penn League.
C. Wolf ruled the waters of Lake Erie and all of New York and Pennsylvania for four years, but he dreamed of moving to Pittsburgh to become a Pirate.
In 1999, when the SeaWolves relocated to Double A baseball, C. Wolf made some new foes. He now protects Erie from Sea Dogs, Rock Cats and Thunder.
His best friend is Paws, the Detroit Tigers mascot. But he does have a lot of other friends from Erie like the Smith's weiners - Keilbossa, Italian Sausage and Hot Dog. Other friends include the Erie Otters' Shooter, Erie Freeze's Freddy The Yeti, Cool Bear from the Erie Zoo, Lake Erie Speedway's Leaopard and many others!
[edit] Attire and Attitude
He may be a wolf, but C. Wolf's got a love for water, dressing like a Pirate, including an eye-patch! C. Wolf's other favorite clothing item is his red and white bandanda. Argh, matey!
He's a harmless wolf, too, unless of course he finds a Senator, Aero or Sea Dog in his way. And one mention of Steamer or Diesel Dawg and C. Wolf's ready for a fight!
During games, C. Wolf entertains fans of all ages and roots on his buddies on the field. He leads all the kids in the park on the nightly stampede through the outfield, too.
What's his favorite song? "Hungry Like The Wolf" by Duran Duran of course!
[edit] Logos
The current Erie SeaWolves logo includes a fierce looking C. Wolf with sharp fangs and his signature hat and bandana. The logo somewhat resembles the logo of the Pittsburgh Pirates with the x-shaped baseball bats and the pirate-like wolf. |
