Okay, it is official. I've never seen a {{helpme}} request go unfulfilled for over an hour, until now. The reason is probably that most such requests are for help understanding the wiki syntax -- how to do something -- but this request is more along the lines of an RfC. As for the request itself: I understand you want to head off a possible talkpage mediation headache, but until it manifests it probably isn't necessary. Still, there is no policy against such a pre-emptive action. If you really want to, then Be Bold and do it. If you do, please don't link directly to a forum but do as you suggested and direct people to the interenet in general. Otherwise we have a slippery slope where people figure they can spam their favorite forum by using a similar technique. In short, I don't see a need for it until there is a need for it, but if you really want to then I don't see how it would harm anything. SWAdair 05:20, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
