C.W. Thamotharampillai (Tamil: சி. வை. தாமோதரம்பிள்ளை) occupies a position next to Arumuka Navalar in respect of the publication of Ancient Tamil texts in print. Arumuka Navalar brought out editions of medieval texts mainly relating to Saivism and Hindu Culture while Thamotharampillai devoted his energies to the work of editing and publishing some of the oldest works of classical Tamil poetry and grammar.
