C-31 (Carretera)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The C-31 is a highway running north south along the coast of Catalonia, Spain.

The southern end starts at El Vendrell and passes to Calafell on the coast. Ith then passes through Vilanova, Stiges, Castelldefels (as an Autovia) to Barcelona where it becomes the Gran Via through the City Centre. On the north side of the city it becomes an Autovia again before becoming the C-32. There is then a gap in the road which follows the C-32, N-II and Autovia C-65. The road commences again at Santa Cristina d'Aro and then passes Castell-Platja d'Aro, Palamos, Palafugell and Torrent. The road turns north to Pals, Torroella de Montgri, Verges, Viladamat before ending at Figueras. The road particularly the southern and northern sections are often highly congested in summer from tourist traffic.
