Talk:BYU Cougars soccer

[edit] Use of this article name
I believe an article under this name should refer more generally about the athletics in whole at Brigham Young University, not just about the soccer team that appears to be a semi-pro league with the university approval. The current page should be moved to BYU Cougars soccer and the existing page made more generally about all of the sports played under the university athletics department, where certainly there should be a link to the moved article. For examples, see Colorado Buffaloes and Colorado Buffaloes football. This would be more in line with the rest of Wikipedia and how university athletics are handled. If anyone has a problem or complaint or suggestion, please say so here. If nothing is posted within 7 days, I shall make all of the above changes, with the exception that the BYU Cougars article I shall make a redirect to Brigham Young University until someone makes a proper athletics article. --MECU≈talk 20:30, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- I agree those changes should be made. Also, you may want to consider moving this to Brigham Young Cougars instead of the initials. I'm not sure on this, it should be whatever they are more commonly referred to. That would at least be an appropriate redirect though. VegaDark 10:07, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- I would prefer BYU Cougars, but I don't know which is "better" or "preferred". BYU is certainly acceptable, and it's more common in my mind, but I also agree that either way the other should be a redirect. --MECU≈talk 13:44, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- I noticed that Template:BYUCoach says "Brigham Young Cougars" and not BYU Cougars. Both the article and the template should use the same format, so something needs to be changed. Perhaps someone from BYU could say which one is more commonly used? VegaDark 22:16, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
