Buttes Chaumont
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Buttes Chaumont is a public park in Paris, in France.
It is in the north-eastern part of the city, on the site of a former gypsum quarry used for the construction of the Parisian buildings (in the central districts). The park is built on largest of these quarries.
It was created by Baron Haussmann in 1867 and later landscaped by Adolphe Alphand and Badrillet.
