Butterton

Butterton is a small village in the Staffordshire Peak District of England (grid reference SK075565). It is west of Wettonmill in the Manifold Valley and north of Grindon. The village is just to the west of the limestone area, and so is mainly built of local sandstone. It was formerly on the old pack-horse route to the copper mine at Ecton
