Butt pirate

Butt pirate is an abusive slang term used for a homosexual man. The term is generally used by heterosexuals as a slur, and has sexual connotations. It is often considered the male equivalent of "dyke".

The term "butt pirate" is an offensive reference to a person who actively seeks anal sex, an activity homosexual and some heterosexual men are assumed to engage in, and is generally believed to have come about in the mid 1980's. The term is particularly offensive due to the fact it implies, on some level, rape or unconsensual activities.

Unlike "dyke", "butt pirate" is not a term widely accepted by the homosexual community and is considered more vulgar and inappropriate.
