Butler High School (Pennsylvania)

Butler High School is located in Butler, Pennsylvania and is part of the Butler Area School District. The school is actually composed of the Butler Intermediate High School for grades 9-10 and the Butler Senior High School for grades 11-12, both located on Fairground Hill just west of the city of Butler. Normally, "Butler High School" refers to the senior high. Each class averages about 700 students, significantly lower than the classes of previous decades. Classes in the 1970s boasted enrollments upwards of 1500 students per class.

As of 2006, the school principal is Mr. Jeffery Schnur. Ms. Veronica Rozic and Mr. Brian McGill are the Assistant Principals. The mascot is a Golden Tornado that has been given the name "Tuffy". The teaching staff is comprised of many experts in their fields, including former journalists and industrial chemists.

Butler High is the home of the Butler Golden Tornado Marching Band. The Band will be marching in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses on January 1, 2007, for the second time.
