[edit] Synopsis

Bowser had kidnapped Princess Peach and hidden her in a mine in the wild west. Mario, Luigi and Toad had gone after her when they stumble across a cactus with a note stuck to it. It said that Butch Mario and the Luigi Kid were outlaws and are wanted dead or alive with a reward of 10,000 gold pieces. Luigi says they should turn back because of the dangerous outlaws until Toad realizes that the Mario Bros. are the outlaws. Suddenly, the cactus turns alive (it is a Pokey) as soon as Mario reads the note, and decides to apprehend the trio. Mario sticks a plunger into the Pokey's head. Afterwards, the trio encounters Mouser, posing as the local sheriff. The Mario Bros. and Toad quickly run away with Mouser's squad on Snifits giving chase. When they encounter a cliff with a waterfall, Mario decides to jump across the logs floating in the river to get away from Mouser. The Snifits try to do the same, but fail and drown in the river.

Later, in a western town, Bowser yells at Mouser for losing them. In response to being threatened by Bowser, Mouser commands all the bounty hunters in the territory to come after them. Disguised and riding Ostros, Mario, Luigi, and Toad soon find out that Mouser has tripled the reward to 30,000 gold pieces (Toad admits even he'd consider turning the Marios in for this reward). A Tweeter hears Toad, and goes to inform the rest. The gang then sees a smoke signal coming from the mine, reading "HELP ME", and a signal resembling the Princess. Just when they arrive at the mine, Mouser and his squad, having been informed by the Tweeter, trap the gang. They escape, and Mouser blows up a nearby boulder, causing it to spiral downhill, chasing the Mario Bros. to the town. They take refuge in an Italian diner, were it is revealed to be a trap by Bowser. Bowser locks them up on a jailcell. By claiming they are dying of thirst, they trick Mouser long enough for Toad to sneak up inside his hat and escape.

When outside, Toad picks up a couple of Bob-Ombs, which he uses to blow up the bar Mouser is in and to free Mario and Luigi from the jailhouse. Mouser, who survived the explosion, finds them escaping, and chases them again. When they reach the mine, they try to break the wall by exploding it with a bomb, but Luigi gets trapped. When Mario gets him out, they find Bowser outside waiting for them with the whole squad. Mario and Bowser get in an old-fashioned western showdown. Bowser cheats and fires early, but he misses. Mario takes the advantage and starts shooting wildly at the squad. After the smoke clears, they run to find Peach. Bowser comes in to blow up the place with a Bob-Omb, but the Mario Bros. start plumbing so they direct the water from the mine toward Bowser, throwing them out of the cave with a big bang from the bombs. Princess Peach asks Mario if there is any way to repay them, and Mario proudly asks for all the kinds of pasta there are.

[edit] Trivia/Goofs

  • Mario claims that the only time that plumbers sleep on the job is when they are working by the hour.
  • When you first see Mouser, his face is grey!
  • When the Snifits take off running on the Ostros, their hats turn white when we first saw them as yellow!
  • When Mouser says "What are you loonies up to?" Mario's cowboy hat is completely red!
  • When Mario knocks off Mouser's hat, look at Toad and you'll see him with his normal Mushroom hat on!
  • When Koopa shoots a fireball, it goes from the red center at first to the white center in the next shot!
  • When Koopa draws the Pirahna Plant, his pants disappear!
  • When Toad picks up a Bob-omb plant, he throws it straight out in front of him at a fast speed. Yet you see it land as if he threw it to the right of him at a slow speed.
  • When the sherrifs posse round the cliff, you only see two mounted Snifits following the carriage, when there's supposed to be four of them!
  • When Mario and Luigi are in jail and Mouser is at the bar, Mouser's entire face is brown!
  • When Toad blows a hole in the wall and Mario and Luigi look blown up, there's smoke coming from the wall, but there's no hole, which we see later.
  • The Mario gang are chased by a greenish boulder, but when they run inside the prison, it rolls by the screen white!

[edit] Synopsis

Mario and Luigi are fixing Sgt. Slaughter's Steam-O-Matic, when the sergeant tells them he is on his way. Worried, Mario goes inside the steam machine to see if it's good enough. But he gets stuck inside.

When the sergeant gets to the shop, he hears a thumping sound inside the machine and commands Luigi to fix it. However, he does not know what the sound is. After much criticism of Luigi, the sergeant goes outside to fix his double-parked tank. Luigi opens the doors and sees Mario inside, but shrunk down by the machine. He wants revenge on the sergeant.
