I just read this article and I was quite disgusted by the fact that men used to sniff the used panties for sexual stimulation. And also, I don't see how ONE pair of USED panties could cost up to 100 dollars. I've seen NEW panties in the shops, and they cost 5 dollars for THREE pairs.

Proof that used panties are profitable:
\ 5$(new\ panties) + 100$(prostitute)=105$(pantie\ with\ prostitutively\ enhanced\ odour) > 100$ (burusera\ pantie)

and lets not forget how underage gril would sell thier underwear and that be banned in **2004**. THEY BANNED IT THAT LATE.Angelofdeath275 03:15, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What's happening in Japan is outrageous.

Are they forming a Panty Sniffer's Liberation Front?

[edit] Japanese attitudes

The article would benefit from a discussion of Japanese attitudes towards the practice of buying and selling one's used underwear. That is, is it a perfectly normal and socially-acceptable practice? Is it shunned? Not talked about? How would the average Japanese parents react upon learning that their daughter is selling her used underpants to middle-aged men? How might her friends react? How about the buyer: would his friends look askance at him, or would they not give it a second thought? How widespread is it, exactly? Someone more familiar with Japanese culture and language than I should write this up. —Charles P. (Mirv) 22:09, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Haha

It's all right that some men should get sexual stimulation from sniffing used girls' panties. Nothing exceptional or very astonishing in that, I trust. But it is only in Japan that there should actualy be vending machines selling packaged used panties!!! Now that's really progress. 131.111.8.96 00:10, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

It is also an urban legend. MightyAtom 05:04, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Well Snopes.com holds both the industry and the vending machines as true and existing (as recent as Feb 2005). Link --Myfanwy 03:32, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

I know this is the discussion page but please do not pollute with your unjustified moral righteousness, please restrain from commenting based on what is frowned upon in your region/culture, because evidently these do not apply to the feelings of people all around the world. Men around the world are getting sexually aroused with the scent of a womans used panties while you read this, the fact that Japan is less conservative about the issue does not make it a local fetish, so when criticizing this issue you are not discussing japanese attitudes, but a fraction of human nature itself.

The fact that japanese girls can get some money that they could spend on books or other educational purposes from men that are not threatening their sexual/physical/mental integrity seems perfectly acceptable at least to me.
