[edit] High school campus
I don't know how to work Wikipedia, but someone should say something about the Burnsville High School Senior Campus. I think it is very unique. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.81.168.105 (talk • contribs) .
- You should see the Burnsville Senior High School page. It is covered there. [[gboone]]
[edit] Low-Income Residencies=
"The median household income from the 2000 census is $57,965 and the city accepts low-income residencies." I am not quite certain what the second part of the sentence means. I do not believe Burnsville has its own independent program for providing affordable housing; however, some or many Burnsville landlords - as well as landlords in neighboring cities - accept county or state housing subsidies. The meaning of this is not well explained as is much of this article, I apologize. I wrote most of it in haste being bored one night. The meaning of "the city accepts low-income residencies" is more a characterization of Burnsville's acceptance to low-income housing in general not necessarily any program. I will elaborate this as well as much of this article soon. I know a lot of you are writing here like "wtf?" but it's amazing how much energy it takes just to write about a simple thing.
I will reiterate the information presented in this Burnsville article is NOT INDEPENDENT RESEARCH, it is the synthesis of my Urban Studies background training and my experience growing up and working in Burnsville from 5th grade in Mrs. Lindstroth's class at Vista View to finally leaving the nest after high school (albeit I go back because my mom wants me to move furniture or stupid things in her mansion). [edit] U.S. City Template
This article doesn't conform at all with the Template for a U.S. City. The people who working on this article should take some time to see to this.--Daveswagon 09:26, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
The article was originally in a Wiki template back in 2004 and I expanded it during that time -- when the U.S. City template did not exist. Plus I do not believe this Template for a U.S. City is meant for suburbs. While many suburbs consider themselves fiefdoms, their existence relies solely on the existence of the main downtown and the transportation network of the region. For example the "economy" of Burnsville is really the economy of the Twin Cities, Bville being one component of the regional economy. Plus there is so much about Burnsville that really isn't so unique, we were once cornfields owned by Irish farmers that slowly turned into homes. Nonetheless I or we may try to adapt the spirit of that template here but again, Wiki only accepts YOUR knowledge, what you know living and breathing here, NOT what you can google off the internet. So don't go on a tailspin with information that you don't know. Duh. Davumaya 07:04, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
