Talk:Burning Sand
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This looks like it would be more suitable as a redirect to Falling Sand Game, with any extra information merged. It's not very useful on its own, and otherwise would contain too much duplicated content. The Falling Sand Game article already seems to have some info on this version as well. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 22:39, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I need help with formating and other work
please help me with this, burning sand is not a fallingsandgame game its an independant program
- I'll help out, although please note that I removed the large 'how to' section as it's not suitable for wikipedia. Marasmusine 10:37, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
oh, thats what most people like about burning sand, is there any way to add it to a subpage or something, and still keep it relavent to wikipedia Atlasrune 14:32, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- Best thing to do is add a short paragraph on the fact that it is possible to add custom mods to the game (briefly explaining what they are), but leave any in depth 'how to' instructions to the offical Burning Sand website. No instruction manuals here, I'm afraid! By the way, I had a quick look at the game itself and rather enjoyed it, more so than the original Falling Sand game, I like all the different sub-types. And one ore thing, why did you delete the opening paragraph, it took me forever to word that correctly, im horrible at writingAtlasrune 16:04, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, let's see if I can break this down.
- The program is , started from an EXE file and becausse of this is much easyer to use.; most programs are executable files; the fact that the original Falling Sand game is a browser-based game is the exception rather than the rule. However, this can be incorporated later into a 'differences between the two games' section rather than the introduction.
- It also is more user friendly, its elements being catagorised. This is subjective :> The element subtypes should be mentioned in a later section, as above.
- It has its own side forum on The Falling Sand Games fan forum where because of the games properties people discuss mods, or config files for the game. This game also has a forum in its base site Here. Fan forums aren't particularly notable and in any case external links would be better in the External links section, which they are here anyway.
So what we can do is keep the introduction nice and brief, but make a 'differences with Falling Sand' section. Which I'll do now. Marasmusine 18:49, 10 September 2006 (UTC) .
