The town of Burnley has four railway stations. The Burnley Manchester Road station is served by Northern Rail express services from Blackpool North to Leeds and York via the Caldervale Line.
Burnley's other three stations, Rose Grove, Burnley Barracks, and Burnley Central, aren't directly reachable from Burnley Manchester Road because they are on the East Lancashire Line.

Monday to Saturdays, there is an hourly service from Burnley Manchester Road to Blackpool North, westbound and to York eastbound. Sundays, there is generally a two-hourly service in each direction.
