Burning Hearts On The Road is the third episode of the Oh My Goddess! OVA series, and was originally released on 1993-09-21.

The story opens with a young girl chasing something which bares a passing resemblance to a rabbit. Eventually she catches it, smacking the creature on the head with a hammer. No sooner does she celebrate this, however, than hundreds more of these creatures appear. Cut to Morisato Keiichi, who is has once again got to carry the responsibilities of the NIT Motor Club; he must build a drag bike by morning, with which he has to participate in a race. Most of the work has been left to him, which what has been done by others will need to be redone.

Meanwhile, Belldandy is in the kitchen, baking a cake; Urd watches on. In an attempt to understand how she can derive such joy from cooking, Urd offers to help. Not being one for menial work, Urd decides to use her powers to make things go faster... thus blowing up the cake-mix. Leaving the clean-up to Belldandy, Urd decided to make amends by using her power to help Keiichi... thus blowing up the engine he was building.

Keiichi leaves to take a bath after this, however, even there he is not able to find peace: the young girl we saw earlier appears from the water! She is not too happy to see a naked man before her, and knocks him out with her hammer before running off into Belldandy's arms. She is Skuld, Belldany's younger sister. When Keiichi recovers and gets dressed, they all sit down to eat the cake, where the girl apologizes for her actions earlier.

When Skuld speaks up against Belldandy and Keiichi being together, Keiichi decides to give the sisters some time alone, and returns to the bike. While we find out that Skuld has been lonely, without her beloved onee-sama around, Tamiya and Otaki arrive with a 'present' for Keiichi: a twin engine! Pre-assembled and with a new frame, but it will still mean a lot more work for Keiichi, who cannot trust these two to not have skipped corners. Meanwhile, Toshiyuki Aoshima arrives, partly to try and woo Belldandy, and partly to make sure Tamiya did not back out on their bet on the race.

Skuld finds the blueprint created by Tamiya and Otaki, and cannot leave such poorly-formed equations alone. In no time at all she corrects the blueprint, saving Keiichi a lot of work. This was the last thing Skuld, who hates Keiichi, wanted to do! Over the remainder of the evening, Keiichi and Megumi Morisato worked on the bike, assisted from the side by Belldandy. Skuld tries to probe Keiichi, to see what his true feelings for Belldandy were, but was not satisfied to find he was sincere towards her.

The day of the big race finally arrives, and an exhausted Keiichi prepares to ride. Aoshima is impressed they were able to build such a bike overnight, but is unperturbed. He reveals to Keiichi that Tamiya and he were betting on this race, with Belldandy herself as the stakes. Belldandy accepts the deal, fully believing in Keiichi. Skuld, however, sees this as the perfect opportunity: if Keiichi were to lose, perhaps Belldandy would return to the Heavens with her! With this idea in mind, she decides to do a few improvements of her own on Aoshima's team's bike, tuning it beyond human abilities.

The final of the race comes down to Keiichi and Aoshima's rider. Belldandy gives Keiichi a kiss for luck, and leaves him to it. At first, Keiichi is not holding very well against the superior rider and Skuld's enhancements, but his opponent's over-tuned engine blows out, leaving an easy victory to Keiichi. The entire NIT Motor Club comes together for celebrations. After the celebrations, Keiichi and the three Goddesses are looking over stalls at the races when a ring catches Belldandy's attention. He went to buy it for her, but had forgotten his wallet.
