Bullet Park is a 1969 novel by John Cheever about unhappiness in the seemingly perfect suburbs. The novel is divided into two main sections. The first section deals with a single family abounding with problems. Their son refuses to get out of bed for instance. The second half deals with a disturbed man who strikes up a relationship with the family. The book deals with the failure of the American dream which inspires disillusion, and in turn, violence in urban neighbourhoods.
