The Buffalo Chips are the University at Buffalo's only all-male a cappella group. Started in the fall of 1995 by Michael Burrows and Erich Kraus, the group was originally named "Cadence," but underwent serious changes during its first semester, leading to a reformation of the group under the name "Buffalo Chips." Their first concert was the V-Day show in February 1996.
The Buffalo Chips have provided two members of The Hyannis Sound to date (Darrell Belch and Eric Fosbury), and have taken first place in their division of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella three times. The Chips put on several shows each year, and often make appearances both on and off campus. They have also released seven albums to date, and are presently recording their newest album, entitled "All In," with Freddie Feldman of VOCOMOTION.
