BUFCST

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

BUFCST is the acronym for Boston United Football Club Supporters Trust.

[edit] History

Boston United is one of the last Football League clubs to form a supporters trust and although there has been B.U.S.A. (Boston United Supporters Association), BUFCST will be the first time Boston United will have connections with Supporters Direct.

The Trust has already started fundraising by auctioning mostly Boston United related items on eBay and became a legal entity in late February 2006 when it registered as an Industrial and provident society.

BUFCST teamed up with fanzine site impsTALK prior to the Lincolnshire derby on 18 March 2006, distributing 2,500 copies of a free 12-page issue containing a membership form. Later that day a series of punk/rock concerts in Boston, arranged by fans, took place, raising funds for the Trust.

The Trust reached a milestone in June 2006 after it announced it had exceeded 50 members for the first time.

BUFCST expect to hold further public meetings during 2006 and then hold full elections and launch in early 2007.
