Bucky Richardson is a former Quarterback for Texas A&M University who went on to play professionally for the NFL's Houston Oilers. Richardson was an All-Southwest Conference pick in 1991.
As a freshman in the 1988 Cotton Bowl against Notre Dame, Richardson was named MVP after leading the Aggies to a come from behind victory in the 2nd half.
Against BYU in the 1990 Holiday Bowl, Richardson compiled 322 yards of total offense (203 pass, 199 run). He rushed for two touchdowns, passed for a touchdown, and caught a touchdown pass.
During his Texas A&M career, Richardson rushed for 2,095 yards, a conference record for QBs. He played in three bowl games with Texas A&M and helped them to two SWC Championships. He finished in 10th place in the 1991 Heisman Trophy voting.
Richardson was drafted in the 8th round of the 1992 NFL draft by the Houston Oilers. He played for the Oilers from 1992-94, and was a starter for part of the 1994 season, passing for 1202 yards, and rushing for 217 more.
