For the branding mark anciently used on horses, see Bucephalus (brand).

Bucephalus (Greek: Βουκέφαλος, from βοός and κεφαλή, meaning "ox-head")(ca. 355 BC? – June, 326 BC) was Alexander the Great's horse and arguably the most famous horse in history. Bucephalus died after the Battle of the Hydaspes in 326 BC in Pakistan and is buried in Jalalpur Sharif outside of Jhelum, Pakistan.
