Template talk:Btot

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't think this belongs. At least I don't think it belongs as an editorial whim. It should be Wikipedia wide: either all articles have it, or they all don't (or conceivably a user preference). Notinasnaid 14:19, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

I second that. --Xyzzyplugh 16:32, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah. Someone wanna go post it on WP:TFD? —Fitch 03:23, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Interesting. Which of the categories on WP:TFD#What_.28and_what_not.29_to_propose_for_deletion_at_TfD applies? Is there a specific Wikipedia guideline this is in breach of? Notinasnaid 10:56, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Completely agree. We can't just scatter personal navigation interfaces/systems at whim.
Also, linking to the top of the same page is against usability principles. Specifically described as, "never have a link that points to the current page" because it's confusing. #10 explains further at [1]. Letting the octothorpe (#) show is the only clear way to selflink a page.
I've orphaned the template, and will list at tfd soonish. -Quiddity 23:12, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Xaosflux: i meant an octothorpe within a text-link to a specific subsection. eg monkey#see also.
This specific template has no potentially redeeming features ;) -Quiddity 00:31, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
